David Beresford

Middleton-born midfielder David Beresford began his career with Oldham Athletic and represented England at youth level. He later played for Huddersfield Town, Hull City and Plymouth Argyle, alongside loan spells with Swansea City, Preston North End, Port Vale and Macclesfield Town.

Beresford joined Tranmere Rovers in November 2003, becoming Brian Little’s first signing for the club. He returned to Macclesfield in 2005 and retired from professional football the following year.
